Celtic Votive Horse and Rider Figures, 3rd-1st Century BC

$780.00

Bronze, about 1 3/4" height mounted. The horse with proud raised head and muscular neck with foreleg raised as prancing. The warrior finely delineated for these with short legs and expanded seat to facilitate mounting. His face very well detailed with complete features. His right arm raised with transverse texture, possibly representing a skin or cloth draped over it. His left arm extended to grip the reins. His chest with an angled belt, which would indicate a sword belt or baldrick. Fine uniform dark matching patina throughout and no damage. These figures are rarely found undamaged and more rarely in pairs.
