Brass hilt, briquette form with ribbed grip crowned ordinance mark to the guard. 31‰۝ curved wedge section blade probably for use for artillery. Blade quite bright and an obvious remount with the captured hilt. Maximizing military strength was the prime goal of all European governments after Napoleon‰۪s narrow defeat and all sprung to benefit from French military technology and the bounty of French weapons surrendered with Napoleon‰۪s defeat.
