All iron construction with 25 7/8‰۝ straight blade. The right side with narrow fuller 2/3 its length. The left, unfullered. Both with remnants decoration, a figure flanked by clusters of X‰۪s. The guard with an oval ring with original filler plate and curved quillon. Iron grip with integral bulbous pommel. The hilt elements decorated with scrolling foliate line work. The weight of the iron hilt lends balance for enhanced control. Rare form.
