Just under 2” width, oval form. The body of roped or spiral form, modeled in the full round with reeded scroll terminals. The helix or spiral which was a favorite Viking form. Original cross pin. Worn in numbers on the leather war jerkin, at an ounce each, a few pounds could be added providing significant protection against sword blows. See current Public Broadcasting for Vikings wearing a protective brooch. Surface textured from burial. The silver surface restored for modern wear. Mounted with a modern 18” Sterling silver neck chain and jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
