MEDIEVAL LADY’S PENDANT NECKLACE C.1300-1500 AD

$180.00

Gilt bronze, just under 1” (0.95”) tear shape. Comprised of small spiral strands doubling on the borders and forming a pierced stylized star inside. Coil work such as this, made by producing wax originals melted in the casting process, was popular in the Byzantine period and used by Vikings as well. The central figure quite likely represents the Star of David (Megan David or shield of David) suggesting a Jewish owner. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored, on an 18” gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
