Just under 1” total height. The cross beam centered rounded beam ends. A square at the middle with matching rounded corners. The beams, junction and square quadrants all depressed, probably enameled originally. The back is plain. The form and enamel are both characteristics of Eastern European variants, especially Ukrainian. Carried by European Pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land to visit the land where Christ lived and died, and later by Crusaders. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored on an 18” gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
