Gilt bronze or silver. Made from an ancient Eastern coin with a head one side and the Zoroasterian fire altar the other. Secured with a two stage mount or bail and suspension ring. The coin very likely was acquired in the Holy Land by crusaders and brought back to Europe where it was made into a pendant or amulet, commemorating the service in the crusades. The 24karat fgold surface refreshed, on a gilt silver mounted polished leather neck cord for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
