American C.1770, as used with the Pennsylvania long rifles. 9 1/2” length, natural horn with good patina under light surface encrustation. Two raised rings below the plain spout with original stopper.  Inset wood base with iron suspension loop. The loop possibly later. See Collector’s Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution, Neumann,  p.152 #19. Great age character.
