19th CENTURY MILITARY SWORD FOR CARIBBEAN OR SOUTH AMERICAN SERVICE.

$415.00

Pattern unknown to us. Unmarked but surely German made, second half of the 19th century. The characteristics which identify it to that group include the shaped wood scale grips secured with screws and gussets and the blade shape, roughly patterned after the Japanese style. Brass hilt with lion head pommel and guard with side bar enclosing an oval with crowned eagle with cross on its breast, with remnants of gold surface in protected areas. Uniform excellent condition for the period. Worth research.
