Anglo-Zulu War period brought back by a British Soldier. Plant fiber core in two ranks with hand stitched leather liner. The top beaded in transverse and patterned bands in colors identifying the owner’s clan. Just about 1 ½” inside for a small girl. Descended in the family and sold at Christies London bout 1985. Probably chosen for its small size as soldiers had very limited “kit” size.
