Ex: Ruebens Collection. Second half of the 19th century. 17 1/2" flared base spatulate blade with lines of abutting punches flanking the medial. Hide covered grip with flared base, the lower segment wrapped with trade wire. Medial cage of rounded brass and iron trade wire. Forged iron pommel with flared base and crimped conical tip above lines of trade copper studs, about 20% lacking. The leather wormed at that point (about 1/4" x 1") otherwise showing fine deep aging as expected. Blade with near all original hammer finish.
