Fine example, probably WWII with great deal of patina and character. Gilt hilt with USN banner on pierced oak foliage guard with about 50% gold preserved and glossy patina to the balance. Wire wrapped shark skin grip, excellent. 31" broad fullered blade, about mint, decorated with foliage, military and nationalistic symbols and blank officer’s name in the base panel. Ricasso with retailer’s name.  Scabbard with copper rich mounts retaining remnants of gold surface. The throat with owner’s monogram. The iron liner excellent with about 50% leather covering remaining.
