16th-18th century. Lathe turned, 6" diameter with raised foot and flared rim. Formed silver liner which flares over the rim. Well-worn with minor old chips/checks to the wood. The liner edge with some shallow losses. Condition as encountered with the earliest of Tibetan artifacts which were removed from Tibet in the 1950s following the Chinese invasion of 1950. Used in Lamist Buddhist ceremonies for the ritual sacrifice of wine.
