ROMAN PROSTITUTE'S RING C.100-300 AD, SIZE 8 ¼

$155.00

Gilt bronze, a little over size 8 ¼ with a 2.9mm flat-faced band. The top with a small raised lug modestly represents the gems on ladies’ fashion rings and blatantly advertises the intentions of the wearer. Roman prostitutes were typically adolescents, largely slaves. Prostitution was practiced openly with brothels sometimes sharing doors with libraries. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. A Roman ring of classic fashion form, executed in perfunctory detail for the prostitution market.
