The Imperial period, Silvered bronze, about 1 ¼” (1.22”) height, shaped as a bulbous ended bar with a hatched dome centered. One of a series attached to the sword belt to provide protection from being cut in combat, and so, in fact, a form of armor. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored on an 18” sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift box with Certificate of Authenticity. Superior quality for these.
