Forged iron, 3 7/8” length. The top is a tapered, rectangular section with expanded striking face and  one side indented. Elongated pyramidal form spike. Used to straighten sword and axe blades, damaged in battle. The spike was driven into a log or tree and the blade edge hammered against the top. Considerable effects of use in its working life.  See The Mastermyr Find, Arwidsson and Berg, #72 for a related example found in Gotland, Sweden.
