RARE COPPER VIKING RING, 900-1050 AD JEWELRY, SIZE 12

$185.00

Size 12. 4.9mm width with low rounded face. Made by the lost wax process with a disk originally filling the center to distribute the molten bronze and provide uniform heat for proper cooling. The core was then laboriously removed with the remnant evident. Mottled red/brown patina. Vikings were expert metallurgists. The use of pure copper is rare and suggests a supernatural significance as alloys were much more durable. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Rare large wearable size.
