Forge iron, 5” (5.09”) length, of distinctive angular form. Both sides with low medial ridge. See European Arrowheads and Crossbow Bolts, Rau, p.99. The Avars occupied what is today, Dagestan. They were converted to Christianity in the 5th century. The Islamic Conquests of the 7th century, initiated by Muhammed, resulted in the Islamization of the Avars and founding of the Emirate of Tablisi.
