Bronze, size 5 3/4 for a woman‰۪s small finger. Rounded face band, 3.1mm width. Oval bezel with scalloped edge and crude radial and angled engraving and as found on rings displaying the Star of Bethlehem, and probably dating this example to the earlier centuries of the time span. Favored by travelers, particularly pilgrims and thought to bring good fortune and ensure safety. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, P.102 for another example. As found condition with some wear from use and glossy dark patina. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
