Meiji Period, before 1912. 4 5/8” diameter. Very fine quality. The tapered bowl with chocolate-colored base textured or drizzled with hair thickness random patterning resulting in a stunning finish. The top matching and both with black interiors. The lid with two gold ginko leaves. Classic Japanese juxtaposition with the brilliant exterior revealing the subdued and modest interior when the bowl was uncovered by a guest. Perfectly preserved.
