C.1900 from the Sir Cecil Armitage Collection, collected before 1920. Made by the lost wax process with a compressed octagonal section, C form band with large flared terminals decorated with in engraved bands. The middle with a matching rectangular expansion.   Entirely formed of one piece of tin-rich bronze with a little wear from use and a fine dark patina. 2 1/4" inside dimension with 1.28” opening. Worn by Ashanti women and used as weapons when fighting other women.
