Silvered hilt and scabbard mounts, tarnished, with considerable silver remaining. Black japanned grip. 28” double-edged blade finely decorated with crusades scenes, owner's name, and death’s head with MEMENTO MORI. The forte with THE M C LILLEY & CO COLUMBUS OHIO. That form of address used 1882-1925 only. Blade excellent. Quality and construction including the decoration consistent with its early manufacture. Good sound high-quality early example.
