Pattern which served in the American Revolution and probably the French and Indian War. See Swords and Blades of the American Revolution, 62.S where Neumann states that the pattern was adopted in 1767 but known to have been in use earlier. Brass hilt made in one piece with stirrup form knuckle bow, ribbed grip and hooded pommel with tall button with numerous small abrasions as expected.  24 3/4” slightly broad fullered blade. Original brass mounted leather scabbard, sound with the back seam partially deteriorated, but stiff and slightly age shrunk.
