FINE VIKING SORCERESS’ AMULET NECKLACE C.850-1150 AD

$1,875.00

C.850-1150 AD. Gilt bronze 1 ¼” (1.28”) height of intricate form with four pierced circles surrounding a blue “stone”. Below are suspended three duck’s feet. A burial at Fyrkat, Denmark contained the body of a woman of wealth and status buried with henbane seeds, which have hallucinogenic properties, and a wand as well as other objects. From these, archeologists concluded that she was a seeress or sorceress. The grave contained a necklace hung with three duck’s feet pendants very similar to this. Professionally refurbished with the gem stone and gold surface restored, on a 3mm gilt sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
