Early example of the naturalistic form with rounded top and near rounded sides. Raised bordered with large central trefoil motif, with added sprigs and nubbed at the sixth points. About 1” (1.03”) total height. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface very lightly textured from burial and professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored, on gilt sterling silver 18” neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. Fine bold example.
