Cambridgeshire England. Over 6 5/8” length, Tapered wedge section blade with a distinct dropped point of scramseax form. Excavated in fine uniform preservation for the period. These knives were made without guards and used in hand to hand combat, particularly in the attack from the rear with a single throat-cutting slash. Virtually every old town in Cambridgeshire has a recorded Viking history. Vikings invaded Cambridge in 870, and in 875. Professionally conserved on a Plexiglas display easel.
