Pink/buff terracotta Romano-Egyptian mold -made oil lamp with a large, frog form body. 3 ¼” length. Centered filler hole in raise edge dish surrounded by radial scales, approximating frog skin. Cuticle form spout. The bottom with potter’s mark in a circle. Frogs were revered by the Egyptians as their annual propagation came with the Nile floods and represented fertility and rebirth.
