19th century, silvered bronze of iconic form with inscription ribbon among foliage. Cyrillic inscription reads REMEMBER ME. These rings were particularly popular during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 when soldiers called to service gave them to their sweethearts. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, P.137. Worn from use and burial with the silver surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
