Classic early example, MOROCCAN JAMBIYA

$375.00

Second half of the 19th century displays the characteristics which you look for in a precolonial example. 9 1/8" s.e./d.e. blade thick, well-crafted with tool finish. Wood hilt with engraved sheet brass crest. Brass scabbard with laminated foliage decoration on both sides. The front is profusely engraved as well. Side lugs with both suspensions rings intact. The scabbard with its baluster tip. Two tiny old dents to the back but with a delicate tip curve which is very often crushed or bent is as made. Good honest 19th-century fighting example which has, as rarely encountered, been preserved virtually as made.
