Posthumus engraving by William Nutter of the Willam Hogarth original. See Metropolitan Museum of Art, #91.1.120 for another example of this lithograph. Thomas Coram was an English sea captain and philanthropist who created the London Foundling Hospital in Lamb's Conduit Fields, Bloomsbury, to look after abandoned children on the streets of London. It is said to be the world's first incorporated charity. 15 ¾” x 22 ¾” plate size double matted to 21” X 28” for framing.
