Classic transitional example from the beginning of the Dark Ages after the Fall of Rome in the 5th century. Old Roman form with lenticular bezel and thickened band bottom. The bezel is cut with four circle and dot motifs on hatched ground. The Anglo Saxons were a mixed group of Germanic tribes which served under the Romans and occupied their colonial territories after the fall of Rome and abandonment of occupation. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity. Fine wearable example.
