Rare variation. 3 1/8 (3.17”) length decorated in high relief with a frog crouched to spring. Mold made buff terra cotta. The symbolism of the frog related to childbirth and new life (regeneration) drawn from the profusion of new frogs which coincided with the Nile Spring floods. Note also that one of the 10 plagues afflicted upon Egypt by Moses was a plague of frogs.
