European or American. 7 3/4”. The wedge section blade with rounded tip, and the grip butt rounded to match. Excavated with grips perished. A sailor’s work knife incapable of stabling thus reducing the possibility of its use as a weapon. Type which served American. English and French sailors through the Revolution and Napoleonic Wars.
