Relief decorated silver tang bands and silver stud and diamond decoration on both sides. Broad cross guard with star and crescent central motif. sound with wear throughout. The ongoing conflicts between the Ottoman Turks and Eastern Europe, Poland, and Hungary resulted in the evolution of similar weapons being used by both cultures. Karabelas of this form was used by both cultures as were iron maces and war hammers.
